I think this problem will affect maybe the sales of 50 games. Most people wont ever even know about it.


The players DO NOT need to be faster. That would throw off the balance of the rest of the base running game.... which, honestly, is much more important and a bigger part of the game than base stealing.

The problem with the stealing is the high throws. Fix that and you have a perfect system.

So the issue isn't that the runners are beating every throw, it's just that the Catchers aren't accurate enough?

Guys, im going to say it again....Ive gone back to my labratory and did some major testing and changing attributes will not fix this problem. I'm telling you guys if its on very fast or fast pitching then the catcher lobs it to second , but if its on slow or medium then he guns it. if you put piazza, manny rameriz, posada or whoever cant steal on first and put the pitching speed on slow or meduim then i guarantee they wont make it but make sure you dont take extra lead offs and just stay on normal lead and press the D -PAD instead of X....The only way they will steal on this method is if the catcher throws the ball way off and the second basemen has to go after it but other than that all of those non-stealing baserunners will be gunned out on medium or slow. Make sure its on legend. Now the issue here is that nobody likes to play on slow or medium i know this....i got some other testing i got to do.

Just tried it. Jeremy Giambi got thrown out on a curveball. The catcher threw the best ball to second (speed and velocity) that i've seen. I also have the AI set to pro (im learning power pro hitting) so the setting of the AI doesn't matter, just pitch speed.


This is a pretty serious bug. Glad there is a workaround though. I'll report back any findings.




Now, let's see if i can live with medium pitch speed.

I stole 3 times in a row on medium, once with Manny.

hey famousmortimer , dont play on pro...play on legend and slow pitching or medium and put manny ramirez on first and steal with him without manually leading off and manually stealing (x) ...just the D-PAD and let me know...i guarantee 10 out of 10 times he will be thrown out unless and this is key unless the catcher throws it way offfff where the 2nd basemen has to step off the bag and go after it...
