You're right, that's the rule. Although I have only seen it screwed up once in the game, and I've played 50+ games. -

There's no 'above the [insert favorite body part here]' rule. A foul tip is a foul tip, with no exceptions. In other words, it's just treated as a swing and a miss... a "normal" strike.
I've yet to see anything unusual happen in ASB 2004 regarding them, but I know the critics jumped all over this issue.Comment

You know what else I've never seen? In the IGN review, the reviewer complained that the infielders, on grounders, would often throw the ball home. I have never seen this.Comment
