MVP is by far the best 2 player head-to-head game ever but vs. the CPU....

...it lacks in a lot of departments.

I just want to say that while playing 2 player (head-to-head) this game is UNREAL. The batter/pitcher interface is just out of this world. I feel like I really pitching with a major leaguer. Changing speeds is great. There is a great feeling when you blow a 96 MPH heater past your buddy and hear the catchers mitt POP. I pitched in college and this game gets my adreneline pumping again just like the old days. I just hope that the fastballs still appear to be fast enough after a month or two of playing the game. What I mean is that I hope I don't get used to the speed of the pitch and the game becomes to easy. I play on All-Star and the fastballs come in HARD. I wish that there was another level above all-star just in case I get used to the speed of the pitches. Head -to-Head get an

Vs. the CPU I give the game a I'm not going to harp on this since it all has been said but damn I wish it was better. Here is what needs to change in my mind.

    1. CPU missing more pitches at bat, chasing pitches, called 3rd strikes, and more strikeout's in general. I think it should be more realistic to the point that Jose Hernandez and Preston Wilson will strikeout more while Barry Bonds and David Eckstien should strikeout less. With that being said I'm not looking for a stikeout fest, just realistic stats. If I'm pitching with Kurt Rueter I expect to get 2-4 K's in a 9 inning game. But if I'm pitching with Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, A.J. Burnett, Barry Zito, Roy Oswalt, or Curt Schilling I should have games where I'm striking out double figures. Remember EA Sports, good pitching is a premium and will always beat good hitting. The way it is now if I play a season with the Red Sox, Pedro will make 30 starts and have 50-70 K's. That my friends isn't realistic.

    2. I can't get over the fact that the CPU yanks the pitcher so damn early. It make it unreal. I haven't seen a pitcher pitch past the 5th in 10 games. Makes me not even want to play the CPU.

    3. I would also like to see more authentic pitcher windups as well. MVP nails a ton of them but I would still like to see more. This what also makes the game stand out over the competition. Robb Nen came in the other day to save a game against me and he didn't have his signiture toe tap before delievering the ball. Just minor things. That is my thing, others want working scoreboards, shadows, and balls bouncing off of the stadium. That stuff doesn't interest me.

EA thanks for a great head-to-head game. It's about time a great one came along. Now improve the CPU A.I. without jeapodizing the positives and things will be going in the right direction. It's just stinks that I can't find too many freinds to play head-to-head. Tough to find other baseball video game diehards.

I totally agree. Two Player games in MVP blow anything I've ever played out of the water. Learning about "pre aiming" the stick has added even more depth to the game. You can now attack your neutral and cold zones by pulling the ball or hitting it to the opposite field by "guessing" a zone your opponent might pitch to.Your opponent pitches to an inside cold zone and you "pre aim" the stick LEFT/DOWN(right handed hitter)and if you time it really nice you will pull a hard grounder to the 3B side and maybe get a hit-or even a DOUBLE!!Great game.
