lol, i never used the x button to steel. i always used the d-pad. and here i was scratching my head wondering why people here had perfect stealing records while at the same time i was actually afraid my guy would get caught if i sent him.

BTW, I tested this in Franchise mode, whereas I was stealign all the time in Exhibition. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Actually, there is a certain poster in this forum who claims to steal 2nd base successfully 99% of attempts using ONLY the D PAD method even with slow runners. You say you get caught stealing with the D PAD method?

Let me explain to everybody out there who is having this steal problem..it doesnt matter if you have it on very past pitching because you can get thrown out on slow pitching speed..the mistake that this game is having is that since peeps play on very fast pitching then ofcourse the pitch is getting to the catcher very fast and since the programmers knew this they had to slow down the catchers arm going to the 2ndbasemen so most fo the ttime its a lob throw and the runner beats it out most of the time...if you pust it on LEGEND and slow pitching speed then the throw to the catcher is slow but the throw to 2nd base is a gun and will get the runner out most of the time...so i prefer putting it on LEGEND and cusomizing the game options as i put it on FAST PITCHING AND SMALL CURSOR instead of LEGENDS OPTIONS...so thats teh problem with the steal issues...and that D-PAD thingie is not true because at times i can steal with manny rameriz but thats because i at times lead off manually a extra step so if you guys want real steals then dont lead off more than the default and play on LEGEND CUSTOMED OPTIONS AND SLIDERS and whatever pitching speed!! have a great day

All this crap about stealing and this info makes perfect sense. Why has this never been explored by everyone with these stealing issues? Instead were bombarded with threads about it.

ok, since pitch speed is on fast, thge catcher throws a lob. shouldnt this take thge same amount of time as having pitching on slow and a catcher with a gun?
