i'm really digging this game. but the pitching is really pissing me off! i don't care what anyone says, the cpu DOES NOT chase bad pitches. i played all weekend and did not see one swing by the cpu at a pitch in the ball area. yes, i'm mixing my pitches, locations and i'musing the hot/cold area at times....

I agree. Yes they do swing at bad pitches UNTIL they get to 2 strikes. I'm happy some of you are getting K's but it simply isn't happening for me. I pitch smart etc...they simply make contact 99.9% of the time when they have 2 strikes.
Still have loads of fun with the game. Just wish WSBB had this form of hitting also.Joshua:

also, they will chase more when they have a hitter's count
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I agree. However that isn't the problem. The problem is getting them to miss etc.. when they have 2 strikes.Joshua:

Re: PITCHING IS PISSING ME OFF!!!...
well, as you've all probably figured out, it's almost too easy to get ahead in the count 0-2. this is how i've gotten my strikeouts up: when i'm ahead in the count 0-2, i throw balls on at least the next two pitches, in generally the same area, with generally the same type of pitch (speed-wise). you get them to the point where, say, they haven't seen a fastball in two or three pitches. they're pretty much expecting one, sitting on it. that's when you get them with a change-up or a curve ball. it's 50% settting them up with your speeds, and 50% the location of the pitch you hope to strike them out with now that they're set up.Comment

Re: PITCHING IS PISSING ME OFF!!!...
they won't chase on like 1-1 or 2-1 or 3-1 pitches and they won't chase if it is way to far out of the zone i like giving people high heat just out of the strike zone on 0-2 counts most of my K's are that way...but yesterday I got Bagwell to chase a nasty curve low and awayComment
