Re: I think I\'ve finally got the pitching down.
That's wonderful, I wish I could get those numbers. I can get 10 K's with Johnson and Schilling...COMBINED. Hah, that is over 2 games (on average). In fact, I don't think I've ever struck out more than 6 batters in one game,.Comment

i bet you are getting the batter down in the count...did you make Ankiel a starter? he is nasty out of the bullpen i strike a lot of people out with him in just 4 innings of work...Matty Mo is good too i got about 5 or 6 K's with him last time vs. the AstrosComment

Re: I think I\'ve finally got the pitching down.
Hmm, okay, let me try to describe this.
I usually look for their cold zones, hoping that they are low. I'll use a right handed batter as my example. I don't follow any set pattern, just whatever I'm feeling at the time. I might start off with a 4 seamer low and in just painting the corner. Then I will go low and away with a curve that drops right at the bottom corner of the zone. Going from 95 mph to 75 mph sets them up for another fastball back in.
Gotta keep changing speeds and locations. I get some looking, some swinging, but I am definitely getting them.Comment

Yep, sure did. I put Stephenson in the bullpen. Ankiel has only the three pitches, but they sure can be nasty.Comment
