Its just as simple as swinging on time. If your late or too early on pitches, you will only hit pop ups (depending on the pitch's location). I've used replays to help me determine if I was late or just too early on some swings. I've hit numerous home runs (usually 1 a game) by swinging a fastballs low in the zone. I usually hit the ball to the opposite field on home runs (left centerfield for lefthanded batters and right centerfield for righthanded batters) but sometimes I'm able to pull it.
