    Cook,
You are right about mastering the meters. When I first got NCAA 2K3 I was ready to throw the controller through the TV because of the freethrow system but after a while I mastered it and now I will hit 99% of them with anyone.

The pitch meter in MVP will be the same.

HH has a great pitcher/batter interface. I dont know how it could be improved.

Comparing the meter in NCAA and MVP is wrong to do. The meter constantly changes during the game so it is NOTHING like a kicking meter. When your pitcher gets tired the smaller the green "good" area becomes and the larger the red area becomes.. To the point where it is just a sliver.
        2 totally different meters....
Also depending on whether you are in the stretch or windup the meter has different speeds.

Even if you master the meter, which u wont,.....you still have to contend with the AI of the CPU batters which you will never totally master because they perform based closely to their ratings....you can only affect so much with perfect execution, the rest will be decided by the hitter's abilities

                Al,
Since you are so sure about what I will not master, How about proving what I will not do! [burden of proof is yours when you make such a claim as that!]

FYI, It doesnt take me long to master the meters in any game from golf to football. The funnest game to me is one that I do not have "complete" control over because I will eventually master the controls.

The meters can shrink but the bullseye is the same.

                    slow down, skippy

meters in golf and football are you against your own precision....MVP its you against your own precision then its in the cpu hitter's hands once the ball crosses the plate and that my friend is not in your hands

plus the bullseye shrinks ( green ) as you continue to abuse the pitching meter over time

                    go get em tiger.... groowwll.

                        Skyboxer,

I will give it more time, but right now I got 4 baseball games, Winning Eleven and Apex that I like.

                        AI,

I can't wait until next week when you are telling us all the things you don't like about MVP.

Redbird you are correct in saying that mastering certain actions ends up making the game too easy in the long run. This is sometimes a good case against cursor batting.

However, take away the user interaction and you basically are just an observer. It's a question of balance. As long as the pitching accuracy (for an experienced player) still approximately mirrors real life accuracy you have nothing to worry about. MVP clearly takes steps to reduce the likelyhood of users becoming too good at the pitching meter. I wouldn't go worrying about the meter until you start seeing people claiming that they HAVE mastered it and can throw with precision an unrealisticly high percentage of the time. So far I've heard no complaints.

But MVP is still a very fun game that grabs you by the balls and doesnt let go until the last pitch. For that, I give it credit. I havent had baseball do that to me since 1997 when my girlfriend drove a softball into my nuggets after finding me in her back yard dinging her roomate on the barbecue ( it was off )
