They probably had the same guy as last time, Jeff Pearlman (I think that's his name) of Sports Illustrated. ASB is very tough to jump into, and if you're a big shot writer with More Important things to do, you're not going to fiddle with options trying to find something that suits you. You're going to write the game off as terrible without a second thought. It's really frustrating to get a bad review because the reviewer is ignorant. I think ASB suffers from this problem more than anyone because their default options are just way too hard and a lot of the things that make the game good aren't readily apparent.

FatPitcher, you're a pretty classy guy.

Pearlman did do the reviews. In general, I think XBN has the best reviews of any of the magazines, and I can understand the thinking in getting an guest writer with sports credentials in. But Pearlman is a stone cold idiot.
The MVP review in XBN has been posted at Gamers.com. And it qualifies as one of the worst reviews I've ever seen: MVP Baseball 2003
I would quote it, but it's awsome majesty can only be comprehended with a full read.
