I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I got MVP this weekend and I'm having a blast. The franchise elements are more than enough for me, the CPU even proposed a trade to me early on in a season. I haven't really had much trouble with the fielding problems, or the starting pitching, and I love the ability to intervene a simmed game. With pitching I feel like I'm actually in control. If I hit a little out of the green that was my mistake and I'll pay for it. Great game, not perfect, but no game is. Just my two cents for those thinking which game(s) to buy.

Yep, the I think the best thing you can say about MVP is that it's just plain fun.
It doesn't have the deepest franchise mode, but the new franchise features this game has are sweet. Jumping in to simmed games is an awesome idea and hopefully more games will have this next year. Also, the whole momentum concept in franchise mode is cool.XBL: Tanc -
