Does All Star 2k4 model wind velocity in its 3D engine?
I have been enjoying the game, but noticed there isnt much movement when the ball is in-flight. Then I noticed there was no wind indicator like many of the other games (at least I don't see one). Does wind affect the ball in this game? Do I have to turn it on in the options or something? Thanks for any info.Tags: None -

Pay attention at the beginning of games because it shows temperature, wind velocity, humidity, and wind direction. Wind definitely affects the ball. Its very noticeable on windy days, say 15 mph. The ball curves in the direction the winds blowing but you may not notice it because the cursor showing where the ball will land doesn't move with the ball.
Keep an eye out for this on high fly balls or pop ups. The wind direction given at the beginning of games, ex. NW, tells you where the wind is blowing, so in this case the wind is blowing NW (towards the upper-left corner of screen).
The wind speed and wind direction are only visible at the beginning of games. But there is a definite effect on the ball. For instance, on a cold day in Kansas City, the wind was blowing South. Whenever the pitcher or batter breathed, I could see vapor clouds coming directly at me on the screen. VERY COOL!!!I think ASB did this very nicely. Wind wasn't a factor in last year's game but now it is.

The wind is definetly an issue, I was at Wrigley last night and at the beginning of the game it noted the wind was Howling out at 23 mph! It definetly works cauce between me and the Cubs, There was a total of 9 HR's hit during the game! It was Awesome!!!!!!Comment
