Nagging Injuries
A while back I was whining about Brian Buchanan never healing correctly from a jammed wrist, that I'd put him on the 15 day and he'd still have the jammed wrist at the end of the period... well, what I think I should have done is put him into the high minors at the end of the 15 days... I had Tony Clark sprain his ankle but at the end of the DL period it said he was tired. I put him in the high minors (note: you can put players there even if they have no options as long as they are coming from the DL-- but only 20 days for hitters and 30 for pitchers), and Clark was no longer tired. I guess you need to think of it as re-habbing the injury... so, yeah, give it a try to heal minor injuries.Tags: None -

Re: Nagging Injuries
How long did it take for you to see an injury on your team? I haven't seen any yet, and I've played about 35 games.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment

Did they heal up, or show that they were healed after the DL time, and being sent to the high minors?
I haven't had an injury yet either... and was wondering... or do they keep the minor injury the whole year long? (bug?)

Re: Nagging Injuries
To answer the first question, I'm beginning to figure injuries won't occur during actual franchise games (unless someone has seen different). Personally I've seen them only in exhibition and a scenario game, even... and maybe that's because there's so much put into the franchise mode they couldn't fit in-game injuries. Having said that, I've had 4 injuries (none major) during simmed games...
Since I didn't send buchanan to the minors after his 15 day, he still has a jammed wrist, at least, that's what I'm figuring. Tony Clark's ankle has healed-- when his 15 day was up he was said to be tired. He only became un-tired after I sent him to HM. I have Jamie Cerda on the 15 day now and will send him to HM when it's up to see if he heals...
... keep in mind I also have completely short-changed my training and medical financial allotments... injury results may vary depending on how much you put in. Also, I noticed the Astros sent Biggio to HM after he'd been injured-- this might have been why. Check out the transactions page of your franchise and see.Comment

Re: Nagging Injuries
On my Fresno Banditos, I've got Carlos Baerga who always seems to have a "sore arm" that puts him down for a couple of days. I finally got tired of that and put him on the 15-day DL. He comes back, and still has a sore arm. I ended up putting him on the 15-day DL again. This time I think I'll put him in the minors for a re-hab when he comes off the DL. Thanks for the advice!Missing my Sonics...Comment

Re: Nagging Injuries
Yes, it does. At the very end of the disabled list chapter it states the rules regarding rehabbing players, i.e. sending them down to the minors, is the same as in MLB as it is in ASB. However, it doesn't tell you this is something you need to do to make them fully heal, which it probably should. You are sort of left to figure it out on your own. So yeah, rehab your players.Comment
