I got rid of Javy Lopez and Vinny Castilla (saving about 55 budget points in the process)and Mike Hampton (saving another 55) and picked up Odalis Perez. These were separate deals, but I don't feel like I lost much. I got Sean Burroughs to replace Castilla and Darren Fletcher as a rent-a-catcher for right now.

Need advice on a trade--Thanks
I was goofing around in the trade sections last night. I'm controlling the Braves, and I went to a trade screen with the Yankees. They agreed to a Contreras/Nick Johnson/Drew Henson for Jason Marquis trade. Is it just me, or do I seem to be getting the better end of this deal? I have found the computer to be pretty shrewd on their moves, but this one seems to be in my favor. Any thoughts?

I don't think you can have them offered to you. You can go to the Manager screen and he will propose trades for you, but I've found that usually he proposes things that the CPU won't even agree to. He keeps proposing trades involving Giambi, Tejada, and Rolen, and yet none of those teams will even talk about trading those guys. I find that I get more interesting trade stuff going by myself.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

You got rid of Lopez and Castilla? The Braves need you in their front office right now. That trade looks way too lopsided though. Personally, i dont do trades that rip off the computer. I try to make trades that are benificial to both teams.Comment

why? do you think GMs in real baseball think "gee, I want this player but I will make sure they get just as good a palyer in return that serves their needs better"
Of course not. The purpose of a GM is to get the best possible players for as minmial a cost. Simple as that.
As for the person saying the CPU doesn't offer trades, yes they do. I get offered trades all the time. reject them all since they are a joke.Comment

Re: Need advice on a trade--Thanks
Please tell me how you are getting offered trades by other teams. What screen is that on? If you're talking about the trades on the Manager screen, those are not trade offers. Those are trades that your manager comes up with, and on most of them, the other team doesn't agree. It would be great if you got offered trades by other teams, but I don't think it's in there. In my Cubs franchise my manager came up with a great trade:
Dave Veres, Mike Reminger nd Paul Bako
for Paul Lo Duca and Kinkade (who is an OF in the game. .).
The Dodgers went for it I was able to get a good young catcher, dump a couple of good but expensive RP and, after releasing Troy O'Leary (I wanted to send him down but he was out of options), get a good young RHB for my left hand heavy bench. So sometimes your manager does come through for you!Comment
