Pitching - More walks with cursor on or off? (read before you answer)

I know you would think cursor off but I was thinking about this today after reading Gtheoren's posts and maybe not. Tell me what you think.

I have been playing with the cursor off since I got the game. I use the d-pad to pick my location. I know that 2 taps in any direction puts me near the edge of the strike zone and 3 taps puts me off the plate. If I really want to throw a strike I only do 1 tap. For the most part, I don't give up many walks.

If I had the cursor I would be putting everything on the edge (2 taps is close but not always on the edge) and leaving the variable factor in the game determine whether it was a strike. The question is how much the variable factor makes a difference?

    Tell me what you think?

I played with the cursor on, and didn't give up any walks. There is not much of a variable pitching element to the game

Use the left thumbstick to aim. The d-pad just makes it too easy to hit spots, but with the thumbstick, you just glide it to where you think you want it. Turn off vibration, and you'll have no idea at first where the ball is going. You'll get better with time, but will still give up some walks.

I walk at least 1 guy per game. Turn cursor off and use the analog instead of the D-pad to aim.
