Re: Torii Hunter...
I thought it was great. The league and the umpires have taken away the ability of pitchers to protect their hitters, so Hunter took matters into his own hands. He'll probably be suspended for a couple of games, but so what? I bet every hitter in baseball wishes they could do that from time to time. Why should pitchers have free reign with no recourse?Comment

Was he the guy who through the ball at the pitcher? I saw a highlight of that but didn't catch who did itOriginally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I'm back!
I like the new forums... ok, back to the topic at hand.
He's gonna be in deep doo doo over this. I'm guessing a 3 game suspension, maybe even 5. Good thing he didn't hit the pitcher in the face or something like that.Comment

Yeah Torii Hunter wung the ball at the pitcher, <- can't remember who.
I dont think he should get suspended. The pitcher hit him, he hit back. They're good to go. Word has it the pitcher even came and apologized.University of Evansville Graduate

Re: Torii Hunter...
Yep, Baez did apologize for hitting him, which i thought was a classy move on his part, but he's still responsible for the ball he throws. Hit batsmen is part of the game, but when you're a superstar, your team's best player, and you've been hit as much as Hunter, sometimes you get fed up. Baez had already hit Pierzynski earlier in the game, and these teams don't like each other. He lost his cool, but i think what he did was justice.Comment

Re: Torii Hunter...
I thought it was awesome. Hunter got plunked, so he plunked Baez. If you're not going to suspend someone for hitting a guy after they've said they were going to hit someone, or sliding spikes first trying to cleat a pitcher who hit you, then I don't think Hunter should be suspended.Comment

Re: Torii Hunter...
HA! that was the sweetest thing i've seen since RJ tagged that pigeon...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: Torii Hunter...
I agree that it was funny and Baez deserved it, but hopefully Torii isn't gone long, if at all. If a player is only suspended a short amount of time for punching a pitcher in the face, he should get off easy for pegging him in the leg (it even glanced off his glove first).Comment
