Re: CPU swinging too much...what sliders to I change?
Lower the Batting Eye (Strikes) slider to make the CPU swing at less.
Just for reference, I have my Batting Eye (Balls) slider at 55, and my Batting Eye (Strikes) slider at 55, and the CPU hitting at 20. I play on Legend difficulty, and I have noticed very realistic swing tendencies (Credit to Graphik for the sliders).
By the way, try throwing some more balls into your pitching repetoire. If you throw some balls to set up strikes, you will get better results. -

Thats another thing...its not just this game, but obviously every baseball game, you arent going to walk anyone. One of my pitchers has 4 walks and Im halfway through the 2nd month of the season...

Re: CPU swinging too much...what sliders to I change?
Yeah right. I have AT LEAST 2-4 walks a game. I am playing as the Orioles, with Variable Pitching at High. If I never walked anyone, I would get destroyed.
Let me explain. My first series was against Cleveland in my franchise. Their big hitters are Ellis Burks and Karim Garcia (among a few others, Lawton, Bradley). If Burks gets up with 2 outs and a runner on second, he is GUARANTEED not to get a pitch to hit. I will pitch around the zone, but I refuse to give up a ball for him to hit.
There are also times when I just pitch around hot batters. Vizquel had 2 homers on Omar Daal in the rubber game of the series. It was bottom of the 8th, tied at 4. I have B.J. Ryan in pitching. Am I going to give Vizquel the chance to launch another one? Depending on the situation, but more than likely I want to face Brandon Phillips. I pitch around Vizquel, giving up the walk in the process.
You have to walk some batters to pitch effectively in this game (and in High Heat). Sometimes you will get batters to swing at bad pitches, sometimes you will walk him. But never give up a strike just because you don't want to walk the guy.Comment

Re: CPU swinging too much...what sliders to I change?
If you're playing on a difficulty level that's too easy for you, you won't walk batters, because you're not afraid of giving them a pitch to hit.Comment

And that is why FatPitcher is a programmer, and I am just a lowly poster. He said what I meant to say in one sentence, yet I took 3 paragraphs.
Ramble ramble....ramble ramble ramble....
