I will be on my 4th Xbox copy of MVP baseball!
I keep getting those friggin' 'Your disk may be dirty or damaged' errors with every copy I get, WTF!!!!! Did EA purposely send out faulty disks, I mean this is absolutely ridiculous. I am considering giving up on the Xbox version and getting the PS2 one. This really sucks!!!!!!!!!!Tags: None -

Re: I will be on my 4th Xbox copy of MVP baseball!
You have one of the older defective XBOX units...i had the same problem with only one game, All Star Baseball 2003 last year. It was the only game that was givin me this error..i went thru 3 copies of the game. I finally bought a new XBOX, swapped my old one back in the box and got a refund and a New XBOX...everyone was happy and I NEVER had another Dirty Disk Error again on any single game....stop wasting your time on cd returns....its the old crop or defective crop of XBOX units with the CD problem that will trigger on certain games

Re: I will be on my 4th Xbox copy of MVP baseball!
Then explain to me AI why my other games work fine. (And I have quite a few.)
My warranty is up and there is no way in hell I'm spending anymore money and getting a new console. I'll just pick up the PS2 version. It's the same thing anyways.
ANother reason why having 2 consoles is a good thing.
Btw, EA is notorious for having DDE in their games. Ask around and you will see.Comment

Re: I will be on my 4th Xbox copy of MVP baseball!
I've had no problems with the game, but my XBOX is brand new, only bought 2 weeks ago. But I have noticed that it is the only game where I can notice the sound of the disk in the drive. It doesn't sound quite right.
But I believe EA makes the shoddiest copies of disks in the industry. My first copy of NCAA2002 for PS2 was unplayable, made horrible noises and froze all the time. Many defective copies of that game were made. NCAA2003 was not much better. I had a few freezes, but according to many message boards, a lot of people had problems with that game as well. It seemed to have problems in older PS2s.
Now we hear about this. It seems to be the same old song and dance for EA. EA's disks seem to always have problems in older systems. I assume you are having no problems with any other XBOX games? Keep sending them back, even if it takes 10 more copies. EA needs to get better quailty control.Comment

Yeah, I think I am just going to get the PS2 version. The difference in graphics is probably minimal at best. How many blocks does it take up on PS2 memeory card?Comment

Re: I will be on my 4th Xbox copy of MVP baseball!
Ok Ill explain it just fine......I had 17 Xbox games and only 1 kept giving me the dirty disk error.....I replaced it 3 times same problem, I finally repolaced my xbox and the game worked fine.
Certain companies pressings or batch process has been notorious for giving the older XBOX systems that were releeased between NOV 15 ( Xbox Launch date ) - Feb 30th ( then Microsoft changed their CD drives in their Xbox units to address the dirty disk errors )Comment
