?'s on sim line-ups and fly balls

    I was wondering two things:
Have you guys seen any fly-outs at the warning track? I've seen plenty of hits to the track and off the wall, but the fielders are always too far away. Should I just play with a deeper OF? Maybe I just haven't played enough.

Also, I'm simming a season with the Giants and I traded for Griffey so that he could hit behind Bonds. In every batting line-up I have him hitting behind Bonds in the clean-up spot. But after a couple months, Griffey is not playing very well and I've noticed that in the boxscores he bats in the 7th spot against lefty starters. I still have him batting 4th in my line-ups, but when I sim, they bump him down in the line-up. Anybody else see this? Is it adjusting the order because he's hitting like a 7 spot batter?

It's all timing. Also the speed of your outfielder plays a big role. I've caught up to several pop flies at or near the wall/warning track. It all depends on how quickly you recognize where the ball is going, how quick a jump you got, speed of your OF, and how much loft the ball has.

The great thing about this game, IMO, is that you can really NOTICE the range of players and speed in the OF by how they play the ball and track it down. Unlike WSB and the tiny OF and fielders with turbo speed, it is a challenge in this game to track down the fly balls.

As far as the simmed lineups go....I have found that if a guy is struggling the cpu moves the lineup around. I have Palmeiro batting 5th for me this year...but he's hitting a dismal .197, so the cpu AI bats him at 7 in the lineup and puts a more productive hitter at 5 for me. For the most part, I don't see where it matters too much...I mean if you're guy is hitting .197, he's not going to drive in runs...the way I see it, most the changes made seem to be on the intent of making your team better.
