What length seasons can I play in franchise mode?

I'm thinking about picking this game up, however I hate simming games and I do NOT have time to play a full 162 game season. I already have WSB and in that game I choose the 40 game seasons, is that possible in MVP?

No. You cannot do this in Franchise mode. This doesn't relate to your question, but as an FYI, you can choose the number of games when you do a single season (15, 30, 60, 162).

Unfortunately, if you cannot stand simming games, then this game is probably not for you if you want to run a franchise.

But, I will say that EA added a some nices touches for those of us who do not have the time to devote to a 162 game season. The first is the momentum meter. This actually affects how well your team plays during simmed games. What you want to do is build up your team's momentum by playing (and winning) several games in a row or important games. Then you have a better chance of winning simmed games. The other is the ability to jump into the middle of a simmed game. If you don't like the way a game is going, or if it's really close and you feel you have a better chance of winning by taking control, you can do it ... right in the middle of the game. Nice touch by EA!

Accidentally posted my previous response before I was done editing.

I just wanted to add that, if you like some of the things you're hearing about MVP, to give it a rental. See if you can live with simming some games to get you through your seasons.

Depending on those things that make a video baseball game fun for you, the gameplay of MVP may (or may not) win you over.

I recommend at least giving it a try.
