I hate Armando Benitez

If it's bad enough that Armando blew my 2 run lead against the Yankees in an exhibition game, he just blew my season opener against the Cubs. Glavine pitched good and was able to pitch 8 and 1/3 innings and leave 2 runners on. Benitez comes in, gives up a double right away to allow one of the runs to score, then gives up another hit to let another runner score. The game drags on to the 14th inning, and then Dave Weathers loses the game. I really hate Armando Benitez, both in real life and in this game. I feel he is perfectly represented as he has his great fastball, but low accuracy on his splitter and slider. I should call up Johnnie Franco and put Benitez back to being a setup man. Anyways, I absolutey love this game. If they can fix the wacky trade AI and let CPU starters stay in longer, it will be perfect for next year.

He's saved 139 games out of 157 opportunities as a Met. He's blown some big games, but without him, there would not have been big games.

In my mind Benitez is a fat bum and if he gets into tight situations chances are he will choke (unless he strikes out every batter and those chances are slim as well).

I can only answer that he's blown 7 saves over the last 2 years. That's in over 70 save chances. Again, he's had trouble in big games, but everyone, aside from Mariano, has had late game troubles.

Yeah, but it seems like whenever the Mets are getting hot, Benitez blows a game. He's becoming more inconsistant than John Franco was as a closer. And yes, because they don't have his facial hair, he does kind of look like Biggie.

Let's change this to I Love Al Leiter. In my second game, Leiter went the complete game shutout with 8 k's and giving up 4 hits on all star mode. I won 3-0, with Piazza hitting a 2 run homer, to hit his second homerun in two games. I absolutely love this game.
