    Manage Only Settings

What settings are manage only players using?
I'm having trouble getting a realistic number of home runs.
I'm getting alot of offense but only 1 or 2 HRs every 20 games.

    Thanks,
    Wilbur

    Re: Manage Only Settings

It's clearly a lower homer total with manage only... (not just that I manage the Twins of whom most of the players have no better than a B- Power Rating and couldn't hit a home run in a phone booth)
Homers do seem to come in spurts... I may go 5 games without seeing a homer, then bam, 3 to 5 in one game.
There are more K's and BB's too with the pre-generated pitch count, but... for a manage game, this game has a lot more going for it, in statisical accuracy than any other game I've tried in that mode. But yes, there is room for improvement. (Of course it has pretty pictures too. )
I think Samm Sosa High High Heat 2001 for the computer is the next closest that I've seen... but the trade AI and GM options in that game were very limited. Plus... with every patch, you had to restart your season again, according to their patch info... much like Baseball Mogul and the old Sierra Front Page Sports Baseball series.

It's a shame High Heat seems to have given up on the manage mode... but If they hadn't, I probably wouldn't be playing this fantastic game now.

The game is very streaky. I manage-only, no generated count (I personally believe the batting setting... i.e. easy/ classic... etc... makes no difference at all though some will disagree with me) and have gone 10 to 12 games with no homers than get a bunch in a row... had one with Cesar Izturis today... and the Twins hit 4 against me the other day. You might want to try using the power icon more... especially in batter counts and with all players. But I do believe the pitchers are given the slight advantage, overall, in managed games... but it's not as one-sided as you would believe.

This is an odd quirk, some of the time (in manage mode) I've had where the generated pitch count being turned off works fine for my hitters, but my pitcher was still getting the count every time, regardless if it was on or off.
Shutting down the game didn't seem to fix it, but shutting off the Xbox and unplugging and rebooting did. Weird.
