    Strike Zone is horrendously off

Here's the deal that's killing WSB for me. In most baseball games after you play it for a while you can get a sense of the stike zone and pitches. Well the strike zone in WSB is nothing like it should be. For anyone that knows baseball, it is the bottom of the knee cap and midpoint of the top half of the body (I forget exactly if it's the middle of the letters or what).

My point being the the graphical "plane" is never close to the player. Thus making it a little bit difficult to determine stirkes. Because some times a pitcher will throw one high and it's a strike ever though when you take a look in the reply it shows it above the letters.

I wanted to turn off the strike zone "plane" to make it a little more challenging but not knowing when a ball is a strike or not is more guess work than strategy.

On top of the that the stike zone seems so big that anything thrown at the plate seems like a strike.

It seems about right to me. But then i'm a casual fan of baseball and not what one might call a "purist". Heh.

The biggest problem with the strike zone is that it's implemented "by the book," in the sense that it extends from the knees to the letters when the batter is in a normal batting position. So, when Mo Vaughn, for example, is crouched down, you may see pitches at his eyes called for strikes. It's book, but it's unrealistic as heck.

I heard it was much worse last year. One of the things all-star always had for a while

Yeah, I agree with this. I think the strike zone would be OK if they didn't call the pitches strikes that stradle the lines of the pitch chart (where the hot/cold zones are displayed). Those borderline pitches are just not being called today. It doesn't look very realistic from the pitcher cam when the catcher has to reach over his head to catch a strike.

It is a ton better than last year. Last year it pretty much ruined the game for me. FYI, the top of the strike zone in the Major Leagues is one ball width above the belt.
