    Is this a "hard" game?

I've only played HH2003 (last years, in case you didn't realize that we are somehow in 2004) and MVP.

HH was always a challenge for me. I never really mastered the game, which is the way it should be.

MVP this year is great. I love the pitching and hitting. The only thing I'm worried about is that it will end up being too easy. I'm about 30 games into my season and I'm batting .337 as a team. I don't see it getting lower anytime soon.

The problem is that there is no higher difficulty setting or sliders to balance this out.

How's WSB? Challenging? Do the sliders let you challenge yourself even if you find it easy at first?

Yes it can be really hard depending how you set it up it could also be easy. but if you turn it to hardest difficulty and mess with options turn things up and off it is very challeging

The greatest thing, I think, is that it plays true-to-life, for the most part. I started with the Tigers, and they suck. I am playing a franchise with the Yankees at the same time, though, and I am really good with them. It's pretty realistic.

Yeah, that's the beauty of it. And you can make it as difficult or as easy as you want it to be, really.

Yeah, I'm playing franchise with the Devil Rays and I just had a classic 2-1 struggle against the Red Sox. Sure, I lost on a Nomar RBI, but it was great! You can really set the game up to your skill level.

How would you compare it to MVP (for those of you that have played it)? I don't want to start any trash talking threads, I actually love MVP. I'm sure these are both great games and should both be praised. But I think the AI in MVP is lacking a lot of fundamental baseball knowledge. Is the computer AI in WSB strong?

Yes, I think the A.I. in WSB is really strong. Sometimes I just think "wow" when I see it do something I've never seen a baseball game do before.

I can't speak to MVP, because I haven't played it yet, but I can say that WSB has outstanding A.I. From what I've read that's a weak point of MVP, but WSB is pretty strong in it in my experience.

I rented MVP, and also found it a bit too easy to hit. I was scoring 9 or 10 runs per game right out of the box. I boosted it up to all-star, which helped somewhat. But mostly it just made the CPU hit better while I still could get hits almost as easily. Now I was getting beat 12-8 and 11-9. With sliders, that game would have been good, but the way it is, it's still a little too arcade-like. I did love the pitch meter and other innovations. This could be the game to beat NEXT year.

I just bought WSB. The graphics are the best I've seen in any sports game. But the best thing about it is that it's got so many options to customize it to suit YOUR taste. Its a bit too easy at default settings. So I turned pitch speed to very fast and all-star difficulty. Now it's realistic and challenging. When I get better I can boost the difficulty to Legend and make the batting cursor small or very small. And there are gameplay sliders as well.
And the AI is quite good. It'll do suprising things like drag bunts and suicide squeezes! I don't think you can go wrong with this game.
