Any tips for stealing bases?

I haven't stole any bases sucessfully yet against the cpu. Im not stealing with fatasses either, im taking 2-3 step leads and gettin caught with johnny damon

You need to push the steal button before the pitcher begins to pitch. This is just like pre-throwing and pre-aiming.

you have to slide head first, and with Xbox its the A button and Up at the same time. i know cuz i didnt steal any bases before but now you can be sucessfull at it.

I've been successful stealing second nearly 90% of the time, and here's how I do it: As soon as the next batter steps to the plate, I press up to tell the runner to steal second, immediately hit the leadoff trigger to increase his lead as far as possible, and then once the runner goes and the pitch is delivered, I immediately start tapping X while pushing up on the analog controller. You have to slide head-first to do it. Works pretty well for me. Hope it helps.

All good tips, Also do it on a count where the pitcher is likely to throw a curve or a change

In past games, hitting X gave the runner a speed burst, but I don't think EA implemented that in the game this year.
