Big blow to the White Sox. Without him I definitely see Minnesota overtaking them in the division.

He probably would have had a great shot at the MVP also.

I'm sorry but Quentin is a dumb@$$ and he may have just cost his team a trip to the postseason.

He hit his own bat during an AB after fouling off a pitch causing this injury. Probably had done it thousands of times before this, but this one turned unlucky.

So he's the scum of the earth? Its a freak accident. Not as if he purposely head butted the wall was showing off & hurt himself.

Was the injury as dumb as Lowell hurting Kevin Youkils during warm up toss?

Carlos has been doing that for years. That one time happened to be a fluke.

It's not the same thing and you know it.

And Youkilis only missed a few games, Quentin-who some had as MVP front runner, is out for the rest of the year. It was a freak accident but even Ozzie said: "It's unfortunate the way it happened. Players have to learn from that. Every time you get frustraded at the plate and all of a sudden you use your hands or your body, your not going to win that one." "You're always going to get hurt. And you're just not hurting yourself, you're hurting the ballclub"

Everyone does stupid things and accidents happen. Does that make him the "scum of the earth"?, of course not. But you can't hit yourself with a bat and not expect that you might hurt yourself doing that at some point.

So far so good for us.

I think Minnesota losing their bullpen is going to be the bigger blow.
