    Power Swing

    Hey,

I've been playing the game alot, and it seems to me when I use the Power Swing I hit too many homeruns. Has anyone tried not using it at all? Can you still hit homeruns without it (maybe a more realistic amount?). Or is using timed hitting better altogether? Thanks for any opinions!

I played a couple games with a friend last night and he swears that a couple of the HR's he hit in the game were by using the 'cnotact' swing (we were using all star teams).

in my very first game, i played on legend difficulty. plying with the Yanks, I lost to Toronto 8-2. I had 3 hits ( single, 2 homeruns) Posada hit his homerune with me using the power swing, Ventura followed his with a home run using the contact button. Posada's went 423ft... Ventura's went 433ft. So yes it is possible. I'm still working on tweaking my sliders, but this game is great, one of the best I've played in a long time.

I hit a homer the other night using the Contact button with Edgar Martinez. It can definitely be done, but probably happens quite a bit less often.

Has anyone hit a "cut-scene" homerun off a contact swing?

I find using the power swing realistic. If the Pitcher does'nt throw in you red zone, and you swing in either your cold or nuetral zone. Its gonna be nothing but a big pop-up. Thats why I have the CPU pitching at 100, cause he will barely ever throw to your hot zones, unless he tryna set you up for a K.

My Frank Thomas leads the league in HR with 6, and tne next person has 5. And thats just b/c the pitcher tryed to play me throwing it right down the middle like I was'nt gonna swing at it. Plus all I do is swing for Power with Frank until I fall behind in the count. Alot of times he just have a huge infield pop-up.

I will use the power swing at times. IT will always be with no strikes and perhaps with 1 strike, but never 2. I'm hitting the ball out with contact swing. Just don't over use it if you think you are getting too many homeruns.

Yep hitting homeruns with the power swing is a tad bit easy. I had 3 homeruns with Delgado the other day.

All Star difficulty, custom sliders, very small cursor, very fast pitching speed.
