I love the Reds, but out of all of our starters, maybe Danny Graves could pitch on another team as a 4th or 5th starter and that's it! We got Jimmy Anderson, Pete Harnisch(didn't he suck for us 3 years ago as well?), Graves, Retisma?, and a couple of poopbutts that weren't even roster invitees! We will be lucky if Williamson can control his pitches for 1 inning in a save situation! You know why we fell out of first last year? B/C our pitching went non-existent for about three months. This staff is littered with has beens and never will bes, and it will cost us again this year. Why, b/c Bowden is f**king up the Reds as bad as Marge did right now!

Now the batting line-up is a different story! If you are a pitcher, have fun picking someone to pitch around! If our hitters stay healthy and our pitching staff pitches out of their minds, we could contend for a wildcard maybe. And we need to fire Boone and hire Valentine to have any real chance b/c Boone is about as aggressive as freshman girl in high school!
I just think there are too many teams in our division with that have just as good hitters as the Reds and have much better pitching staffs! Can't wait to get my first glimpse of Great American though. Think I'm gonna catch the Reds-Cards on may 5th

What about Ryan Dempster? Sure, he sucked it hard last year, but he'll come through for at least 13 wins or so this year. You're right about the rotation being a joke, but the problem with the Reds last year also had to do with their hitting. They finished 12th in the National League in batting average. And their BA with Runners in Scoring Position was pathetic. They fired their batting coach (finally), and Don Gullett, their pitching coach, is one of the best in the business. If half of their hitters play at their potential level, I think we can forgive a mediocre rotation.

And give Bowden a little slack. He's working with one of the lowest payrolls in the league, and even though the Reds haven't been serious contenders the past few years, they have been rebuilding toward THIS YEAR, to shine in the new ballpark. And with Dunn's and Griffey's powerful lefty hitting, combined with GABP short right field wall, expect HR numbers to jump.

          And [censored] the Cardinals.

anybody who says they would take kearns over pujols is either extremely biased or knows absolutely nothing about baseball.

I've already admitted to being biased. Pujols is a great player, it's just too bad he plays for an arsehole team like the Cardinals. Mark my words: Austin Kearns is gonna explode this year. And watch out for Brandon Larson too.

PS: Tony La Russa is a dick.
