Is pitching too easy? Help ...

I recently moved from Veteran to All Star with all aids off. I also recently started checking the hot-cold zones before facing each batter. Since I have made these two changes I have been shutting down the CPU with every pitcher I throw out there. My strikeouts are down since moving to Allstar, but I am only giving up 4-5 hits and 0-2 runs. Is it the level change? Is it that looking at the hot-cold info is too powerful? Or is this just a coincidence that will fix itself?

not sure, could be just on a hot streak? I personally don't view the hot/cold zones.

Like Heelfan, I too don't look at the hot cold zones unless I need a big 3rd strike pitch, most the zones are pretty much the same...cold on the outside. I usually just throw some pitches and make my location selection very quickly, so I am not as accurate as I could be. I certainly don't find it easy to contain the cpu on all star level. I have a hard enough time stringing some hits together. I usually scatter my hits...so I can't do any damage. Damn it!

Play the Yankees. I'm playing on All-Star level(since Manage Mode only mode doesn't produce any offense) and I played with the White Soxs with Bartolo Colon picthing and he was rocked for 11 runs in the first 4 innings. They were hitting everything I was throwing, even balls that I wanted them to chase out of the strike zone. Everything that I was serving up, wheather it was a ball or strike, was being put out of Yankee Stadium.

Hmmm... depends on what you do...

I've been using my pitch strategy, which has worked so far. I haven't given up homeruns. My pitching is good, but the players can bust out on my pitchers anytime. I had a streak of not giving up any ER's, uh and shut outs, but those were against easy teams.

Try this: NO strkezone, cursor or vibration and don't choose the location until the pitcher goes into the wind-up. Much harder to paint the corners.

I never check the zones myself...and you may want to edit your pitchers to lower accuracy.
