Batting!!

Damn, I can't hit a ball for my life. When I first started playing I would swing way too early and hit pop ups to the catcher. And now, I'm making better contact, but I still can't hit a HR or get solid line drives. I don't know what the problem is, I probably just suck, but I don't know. If you have any suggestions on what I should do please post them. I don't want to do timed hitting though. And everytime I try the power swing I pop up.

You may not want to do it, but timed hitting is where it's at, in my opinion. It's easier for me to work the count, because I don't have to focus on the cursor and the ball at the same time. Just the ball.

I do. I have tried both, but I keep coming back to timed hitting. I don't like to worry about multiple things while batting either. I'm trying to tweak my settings to make timed hitting as hard as possible. I find that I get a lot of hits using timed hitting, but my games scores are very realistic. I've gotten my hits down in the 11 or 12 range per game, but I want to get them down more. Even so, I'm finding my games to be very close and realistic, so I'm not real worried about the number of hits. My batting averages are still not at the top of the league, so it's not that big of a deal to me. The biggest problem I find is that I hold the top 5 positions in the Hits category. Other than that, everything is great. I guess the most important thing is that I'm having a lot of fun playing this game. I think I would be getting very frustrated trying to use the cursor.

caseyd, I find the same thing with my franchise games. I get really good scores like 2-1 and 4-3, but my hits are usually up in the 14-16 range and the CPUs are about 10-12. Besides the high hit total, I'm getting great stats so far.

I do also. Next year, if WSB 2k4 has the timed hitting also incorparating location as another factor, then this game is going to crush all others.
