Re: GameSpot reviews MVP 2003 (PS2 and Xbox)

I have both versions (ps2 version for my brother, xbox for me) and the animations are SMOOTHER on the ps2. Don't believe me? Throw the ball hard from 3rd base to 1st base after a play. Does the ball move smoothly through the air? In the ps2 version, the ball moves perfectly. Also not that it matters, but in the start up screen on the xbox version, the framerate gets choppy (ex. the mvp logo moves wierd) no such thing on the ps2 version. Also I agree the colors looks slightly more vibrant on the ps2 version. The game was obviously made on the PS2 first, then worked on to the xbox after. The ONE and only thing that the xbox does better visually is show less jaggies.

Ok well then I need to get me a pair of glasses because from what I saw the Xbox looks better than the PS2 version overall.

I agree with krispykeith. These guys are getting paid for doing this. That was a poor effort on their part.

So you're saying that the xbox version has a better framerate on ball movements around the bases? I'm looking at both versions right now on two different tvs. Throw from 3rd to 1st, choppy not choppy, jaggies no jaggies....I'm getting dizzy

Are you using component cables for both versions? It makes a large difference

Where did you see me say framerates in my reply?
I said graphics, not framerates. Obviously there's a difference between the two. Look at the grass textures for example, player faces, player models, stadiums. All of them look better on the Xbox.

Ok sorry, I've been talking about the frame rate and color. I'm assuming in reviews, framerate is apart of the graphics section, since you can only see framerate problems, not hear them or play them. I agree with you on the textures though, less jaggies make the textures look better on the xbox.
