    2009 Schedule released

I don't like the idea of playing the World Series into November...not only does it seem wrong just for the fact it's November (think about it, that's 3/4 of the way through the College Football season!), but it's cold up north in November. Think how miserable it could be if the Tigers/Indians/Yankees/Mets, etc, hosted a World Series game in November.

Seems MIGHTY early to release the schedules dontcha think?

It sucks that the Jays draw the Tiggers for the home/season opener. I wish the Jays would get a better team like the Yankees or Red Sox (better in terms of attracting people to the Dome)

I saw the Reds are playing another interleague road trip in Toronto next season even though they play the AL Central. Makes absolutely no sense why they couldn't sub that series with one against Detroit or Minnesota. Playing into November? Stupid. They are going in the wrong direction. They need to shorten the season not start later and end later.

        Re: 2009 Schedule released

Well, my theory as to why they are making opening day April 6th and perhaps extending the world series into November is because of the World Baseball Classic next year. I think its a good strategy because it may give participants time to rest (as long as they only do it this year). Baseball is def. my first passion, but i also love my UCLA football. Anyways, this schedule makes sense to me.

Ugh, Yankees open with 9 game road trip before the first game in new Yankee Stadium vs the Tribe.

This is often the case when new stadiums are built. Luckily for the Nats last year and the Mets next year they get to start at their new digs on Opening Day.

Anyways I hear the new Yankee Stadium is going to be corporate as hell. There's only like a tiny section way up in the nosebleeds where the common people can afford to go see games. The rest of the seats go for like 2000 bucks a year and up! Seems like a bad time to be charging an arm and a leg what with this bad economy.
