Re: Remembering The House That Ruth Built
If there is a Hall of Infamy, then George is a shoe-in. But the stuff he did to his managers, Dave Winfield & others keeps him out, IMO. I don't think you should get in just because you're gregarious & obnoxious. It may make you well known, but its not HOF worthy.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Eh, when you have guys like Ty Cobb in the HOF you can't keep Steinbrenner out."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Remembering The House That Ruth Built
Truer words have never been spoken. Especially when you consider that the Yanks' recent run of world titles happened in part because Stick Michael was free to build up the farm system, and Steinbrenner was kept away from day to day affairs. It's sad to see him in his current condition, but let's not get it twisted.Comment

Re: Remembering The House That Ruth Built
At least he contributed something to the game, as much as I hate to even hear his name mentioned. There is no denying his skill as a hitter. The only skill Steinbrenner has is running his pie hole & signing checks. He's brought no innovations or been a leader among the owners. In fact, he's one of the main reasons there have been stirkes. Steinbrenner is just an attention whore w/a big bank account that got to operate in the center ring of the NYC media circus.Originally posted by VP Richard M. me living in the bronx I've been to many games at yankee stadium, I was there when Bernie Clinched the batting title, I was there for the 3 hr game by arod, David wells perfect game, but my favorite game by far was the 2001 playoffs when Tino hit the home run, I swear it felt like there was an earthquake. I also went this year for the last time took many pics. I also got to go on the field when i was in Middle school on a stadium tour, that was definetly EpicComment

Also living in the Bronx (born & raised)I've been to many games, but being able to experience the last 15 years of Yankee Baseball has been nothing short of amazing. For me til this day being @ Game 6 of the 1996 World Series is my most favorite moment & I've been to many great Yankee Stadium moments since 1995...
Thanks for the memories o'l friend it's been funComment

Re: Remembering The House That Ruth Built
Okay, Tino got the tears out of me.
Watching this is like a huge reflection back on my childhood of watching so many Yankees games. Simply emotional.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment
