Change a Players Default Position?

I am in a franchise as the Tigers. They suck.

I need to dump salary. If I trade Dmitri Young(LF) for another young prospect that maybe plays CF as his default position... Can I change the new players default position to show as LF?

The reason is that after a trade, there would be no stat bar(RED or Yellow bar in the trade screen) for LF.

If I can change the default position, where do I do this.

Side note: Can you see attendance in this game? or only in HH?

Help please.. Its not a major deal, but very disturbing to see no ranking bar for my team in the trading screen.

I traded and got Preston Wilson and moved him to LF. Hopefully he wont make any errors!

I think you are stuck with changing the players default position unless you can edit players during the season..

You can go to edit roster and change his position there. I changed kevin mench to my Right fielder after i got rid of Lame Duck Gonzales.

I believe once inside your franchise it is under setup.
If not hunt around a bit. it is pretty evident when you see it.

(xbox) I can change the familiarity level and say make LF 100% and CF 90%, but if the player starts out as a CF then he stays one. When I try to edit player info in my franchise it tells me I cant edit the players position. So I have a 2b who is familiar with SS playing SS and I even swapped around the 90% 100% to see if it would do anything, but he stays listed as a 2b. What's odd is that guy came off the DL and a guy who was less familiar at SS (a utility guy, who had like 50%60% for like everything) was still listed in my default lineup. I think even after I did the let the cpu update my lineup option.. (cant verify that tho.. I have to see if it happens again).

You have to go to Edit Player, not Edit Attribute. In this area, you can edit a players jersey number, equipment, default position, name, etc.

If you change their default position, I do not recommend changing their familiarity. It would be like real life, if I wanted to move Tony Batista to the outfield from 3B, he wouldn't be comfortable, but that would be a chance I would have to take.
