For those who are looking for a team to start a franchise with...

Dodgers are a solid choice. I recently switched from the Red Sox to Dodgers, because I messed up my cap with them. But now I know what I'm doing. Dodgers have alot of high cap players, but their all above average, so you can trade them for equal talent or a prospect who carries less cap. That's what I did, so I'll have plenty of $ in the offseason to sign some free agents. Their pitching is also pretty good. Overall a good team to start a franchise with, I'm currently 4-1 right now. Shawn Green, Lo Duca, Beltre, Mcgriff are amazing!
    NBA: Los Angeles Lakers
    NFL: San Francisco 49ers
MLB: San Francisco Giants // Oakland A's
    CFB: USC Trojans

Re: For those who are looking for a team to start a franchise with...

        Travis Hafner, 1B, Cleveland Indians
Pros: Plate discipline and power. He drew more walks (79) than strikeouts (76) in Triple-A hit .342 with 21 homers and a 1.022 OPS.
Cons: Has been prone to injuries.
Estimated Date of Arrival: Opening Day. Stolen from Texas for Einar Diaz, he's Cleveland's projected first baseman.

        Brandon Phillips, 2B, Cleveland Indians
Pros: He was Montreal's No. 1 prospect before being traded to Cleveland in the Bartolo Colon deal. He offers power and speed at the top of the lineup.
Cons: Inexperienced at second base after playing mostly shortstop in the minors.
Estimated Date of Arrival: Opening Day. He'll be Cleveland's starting second baseman.

        Marlon Byrd, OF, Philadelphia Phillies
Pros: He has 20-20 potential after hitting 15 homers and stealing 15 bases in Triple-A last season, in addition to hitting .297.
Cons: Strikeouts. He struck out 98 times in 538 at-bats. He also had an off-the-field incident where he was charged with assault.

        Brandon Larson, 3B, Cincinnati Reds
Pros: He put up noteworthy stats in Triple-A. He compiled a .340 average and a 1.060 OPS, helped by 25 homers in only 297 at-bats.
Cons: He's had an assortment of injuries in the minors.
Estimated Date of Arrival: Opening Day. He's expected to take over third base, vacated by Aaron Boone's switch to second base.

        Mark Teixeira, 3B, Texas Rangers
Pros: He hits for average and hits for power from both sides of the plate. He bat .318 with 19 homers and a 1.005 OPS in the minors last season and then tore up the Arizona Fall League.
Cons: He's had ankle, elbow and abdominal injuries recently. He's also regarded as a mediocre fielder.
Estimated Date of Arrival: Opening Day. He should get playing time at third and first and could end up as a regular DH as well.

I traded for a bunch of top prospects 1 of the deals I did was edgar martinez for hafner, philips, and victor martinez
philips is my starting 2b,hafner starting 1b and victor is now backup since I trade 2 top prospects for loduca.

I am starting to unload a lot of top prospects to make improvements I still got a good amount of top prospects in my minors.

                Prospect Pitchers

Jose Contreras, RHP, New York Yankees
Pros: He dominated international competition with a mid-90s fastball and splitter.
Cons: Must adjust from Cuba to the MLB. Currently holds little value as a middle reliever.
Estimated Date of Arrival: 2003 Opening Day. He's in the bullpen until a starter gets injured or becomes ineffective.

                John Patterson, RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks
Pros: Throws a mid-90s fastball with a nasty curve. He was Arizona's top prospect in 2000.
Cons: Had Tommy John surgery after the 2000 season.
Estimated Date of Arrival: 2003 Opening Day. He'll make Arizona's starting rotation.

Jesse Foppert, RHP, San Francisco Giants
Pros: He's considered the best right-handed prospect in the minors. He posted a 3.99 ERA and an astounding 109 strikeouts in 79 innings in Triple-A last season.
Cons: Inexperience and stamina. He's only been a pitcher for three years.
Estimated Date of Arrival: 2003 Opening Day. Has a strong chance to make the rotation as the No. 5 starter as long as he pitches well in spring training.

                Rafael Soriano, RHP, Seattle Mariners
Pros: He showed control and good stuff with 32 K's and 16 walks in 47 MLB innings.
Cons: Durability and stamina. He's only pitched since 1999 and has yet to throw more than 137 innings in a season. He missed a month last year with an injured shoulder.
Estimated Date of Arrival: He's the favorite over injury-prone Gil Meche to win the No. 5 starting spot in the rotation on Opening Day.

Aaron Heilman, RHP, New York Mets
Pros: Helped by a strong fastball and splitter, he had solid stats in Double-A and Triple-A, compiling 132 K's and 44 walks in 146 innings.
Cons: The Mets appear set with their rotation in Tom Glavine, Al Leiter, Steve Trachsel and Pedro Astacio, so he'll need to grab the No. 5 spot.

I still got more pitchers to so just holla if you need more.

Hafner is awesome. I just traded Brian Jordan for Hafner. I probably could have got more because of Jordan's rating(88) but Hafner has A potential and I needed a 1B, because Mcgriff is old and wearing down. Brian Jordan also carries alot of cap, so that was a good thing. I've unloaded two big contracts (Hundley, and Jordan) and Ashby will probably be the next. I'm 9-3 right now, 1.0 up in my division. Hafner also HR'd in his first game with me
