    +4 seam fastball ?

Has anyone figured out what the "+" in front of the pitch name is for in the create/edit player screen? There is a list of pitches then a list with a "+" in front of them. Anyone

A plus in front of the pitch means that pitch is gonna be a great pitch. For example a regular 4 seemer with top velocity level gives you like a 92 MPH but when you throw in the plus you get like a 100 MPH fastball. Plus pitches are pitches that are great, which include Leiter's cutter, Glavine's circle change, Johnson's fastball, Pedro's fastball and change, Zito's curve, etc.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I thought but there are certain players I can't seem to get any velocity with. For example, Matt Anderson throws a 100 mph fastball but it shows as low as 86 mph when I pitch. I raised the velocity to an A+ and used the "+"s and still reads in the 92 to 86 mph range. Oh well, may be the health rating is affecting it.

well some people have their off days, you gotta remember that. I have been to games where I saw on the radar gun when Benitez is in how he throws a 100 MPH fastball and then I've seen it where he barely gets over 90. Depends on the game.
