    Re: Draft Questions

I only eye witnessed one draft...but all the pitchers were C's or worse...there might have been a C+, but for sure there were no B pitchers.....but a C pitcher isn't so bad, and its not like you draft a pitcher and start him immediately. Youth must spend some time in the minors, most people complain about the ratings, but I think the real problem is they don't know how baseball is really played! Study the game before you rip it.....and I'm not neccessarily talking about the person that started this thread.

Prior is something special, players of his caliber come once in a while....The draft portrays this nicely....I simmed about 5 drafts and 1 year the D-Rays drafted an A- then the next 3 years the best player was a B to a B-

If 2004 is like 2003 and the pitching gets continually worse, I intend to make the pitchers on every team better. Right now, one season in, I can't really tell... I did notice there wasn't a single pitcher over C- in the one draft I've done.

                            Re: Draft Questions

And C+ is a good pitcher, for the draft! I'd take a C+ pitcher in a heart beat if I came across him in the draft. Now let me say this...I would not allow my pitcher to sit in the minors til he's 30. Once he's 24 or 25, he's gonna have to show me if he can pitch in the big leagues....if he's successful, then he stays...after he gets some chances, and he runs out of options, if he doesn't have it, then he has to go. This guy that keeps complaining about low rated pitching...I gotta say, if there were a formula that every team could draft and develope a pitcher to a A or B caliber pitcher, then there would be no demand on pitching...what you are witnessing is that ASB depicts the development and demand of good pitching very very nicely. There are teams that have been searching for pitching for decades...my Rangers for example. And the Prior comment...I like what the other user had to say....guys like Prior only come around every so often, you could probably only come up with 4 or 5 of those kinds of guys in the last decade....thats 30 teams for 10 years....300 different teams and only 4 or 5 great young (23 and younger aged) pitchers. I think that ASB does a great job of this.
