some questions about mvp baseball 2003

hey everybody, long time no talk. anyway, its baseball season and I need my baseball fix. where was I gonna go for info? operationsports of course. anyway, I have some questions about the game.
    1. Is this game more of an arcade game or simulation?
    2. Do the night games FEEL like a night game? I mean, do they give you the same feeling of a night game as last year's WSB?
    3. Are the extras fun? Such as the home run derby?
    4. If you have played both WSB 2003 and MVP Baseball 2003, which is better? Which gives you more of the feel of actually being at the game?

    Thanks.

Re: some questions about mvp baseball 2003

    1. Simulation with a twist of arcade in it. There's a fun factor in the game, but it relies heavily on producing simulation style stats.

    2. IMO yes they do. Day games are much much brighter. Night games could be a bit darker maybe with more emphasis on the stadium lights but it's a good job regardless, especially when compared to day games.

    3. I hated Home Run Derby before this game. Now I play it with a friend of mine. Nuff said.

    4. Haven't played WSB2k3. But compared to 2k2, MVP is a much better game and much more fun. But that's unfair b/c MVP is a year ahead of 2k2. I'm sure someone else can answer this question.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Yes, this game has a great feel to it. I think that MVP is the only game this year that really draws you into the game, and keeps you coming back for more. The crowd in MVP is amazing!

                Hey Carter,
I like the feel-it does lean to the arcade side. The HR contest is the best of it's kind-it's split screen in case you didn't know. The only thing I don't like about the game are the hot/cold/neutral hitting zones.I won't go into detail about that-I've bored enough posters about that already.

hey jaybee, long time no talk man. you were a regular when os just got going. anyway, i'm looking mostly for the game that i won't want to put down and that makes me feel like i'm at the game. last year, wsb was great but it still kinda had that "dead" feeling. i want a game that excites me every time i play it.
