"Hardest hitting"?? not hard enough anymore...

Hey,

I've played 60 games in my franchise, and I'm at the point where 100 cpu pitching ability, very fast pitch speed, and very small batting cursor just aren't too hard anymore. Is there a "harder" or more realistic way I can play the game? Is timed hitting a realistic alternative? Thanks.

wow, you're that good? did you turn off the strike zone, or raise up the cpu throws strikes slider?

Thanks for the reply. I always play without the strike zone and pitch cursors turned on, but I haven't tried turning up the cpu strikes slider yet. I'm not claiming to be a master or anything at this game, it's just that playing with these options I'm still getting around 12+ hits every game.

Thanks for the reply. I always play without the strike zone and pitch cursors turned on, but I haven't tried turning up the cpu strikes slider yet. I'm not claiming to be a master or anything at this game, it's just that playing with these options I'm still getting around 12+ hits every game.

what's your variable pitching on?
if your variable pitching is on high, change it to medium

Pitching ability high causes the pitchers to pinpoint pitches to the point that you know where the pitches are going. I was the same as you, but I dropped pitching ability to 60 and put throw strikes to 1 and now they pitch all over the strike zone. It really saved this game for me, since it was getting too easy.

I was the same as you, but I dropped pitching ability to 60 and put throw strikes to 1 and now they pitch all over the strike zone. It really saved this game for me, since it was getting too easy.

You could also try the Power Pro hitting. That way, even if you hit the ball, you need to be timed correctly (and guessing speeds) to actually get a decent hit out of the deal.

Reason numero uno why I will always hate cursor based hitting. There always comes a point, no matter how small the cursor, hitting gets "dialed" in.

WSB is a lot of fun, but in terms of being able to realistically play 162 games in a season, I'm not too sure.
