    Roster Analysis Screen

I've had some trouble with the roster analysis screen. Here's what happens.....I know you have to have two or more guys at each position or the game says fix this, but, I sometimes have 2 guys in LF and its okay, but other times its not. What I really want to do is trade for Beltran of the Royals, but I don't want to get rid of Glanville or Everrett, who are both CF (Everett can play the corners too)...So I worked the deal for Blalock and Ludwick (minor league CF).....Now I have Beltran at CF along with Glanville and Everett...and on the corners I have Everrett, Mench and the other corner is Everrett and Gonzales....so now I want to send Sierra down who was my DH, not listed in the OF, once I do that, the screen says I need another outfielder! Damn it....I have Glanville, Everett, Beltran, Gonzalez, and Mench...thats 5 outfielders! I don't need or want another. I've capable and qualified guys to play each position, but I can't get the roster analysis to agree with my 25 man roster, darn it....that was the outfield I wanted. Does anyone else have a similar problem and we can vent to one another.

Uh... that's horrible, forcing you to use roster spots... have you checked everything else? Like if where they are and all that. I haven't had this problem before... try checking your lineup...

This is one of the things about ASB '04 I dislike. They wanted me to have a backup MIF, and I had picked up a 2B/OF for that...and because of the OF, they wouldn't let 'im be an MIF

IMO, all Second Baseman should be able to fill the MIF spot

sign a FA outfielder and send your worst guy down to the minors. That is the only way I know how to fix that.

Okay, I did some studying on this, and I think I figured the problem out.....you need 3 guys, to play the corner outfield, and you have to have at least one back up to play every other position....I only had two guys listed under the corner outfield, but I had a DH that was also capable of playing the LF and RF...think I got it figured out, but it did [censored] up my nice trade I made.

Yah, i agree, this whole requirement thing is stupid because I had made hideki Matsui as a left fielder and was planning on sending Juan Rivera down to the minors but then the computer wouldn't let me do that because then i didn't have enough centerfielders. It's stupid that you can't even have THE actual mlb team because the computer doesn't think it s right.

Is there any way you can change who the backup is at each position? Or, does the computer automatically do it? I would like to be able to set the backup at each position, but I don't see a way to do it from the Roster Analysis screen, and you can only set your starters in your lineup.
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. Unfortunately you cannot set your backups...it is computer generated...pretty dumb if you ask me, but in reality it's not that big of a deal.

PLU...I feel you on the Matsui situation. What I did was create him as an "Outfielder" then swapped him for Rivera...it worked. I'm not playing with the Yankess though...are you?
