It's much better this year IMO - I had last year's and really liked it but Sega fixed a lot of the bugs last year, added wall jumps and basically enhanced the graphics. Plus, it has ESPN presentation which does help the game.

Night and day. Aggressive AI baserunning, great and varied animations, etc.

Re: difference compared to last year\'s world series?

Last year's game was good, I almost wasn't going to get this year's but I'm glad I changed my mind!

                The differences:
                1) the graphics are better than last year
                2) the jump button
                3) in game saves
                4) player editing (although not sure if this was in last years game)
                5) option of warming up pitchers in the bullpen
                6) Sweet double play animations
                7) ability to rest players in franchise mode
                8) 3 types of hitting (cursor, power pro, timed)

I may have missed some, but if you had the game last year you get the idea. This game is great.

I still think there are way too many runs in this game. Is there a fully tested set of slider settings I can use, that will actually give realistic results for both my team and the opponent's? I used on set of slider settings i found on this site, and that did nothing to improve the realism of this game.

I don't know about too many runs, but there are definately too many hits allowed. But then again, I haven't really tinkered with sliders.
