Baseball fans are probably the most difficult to please in regards to a franchise mode. How deep will the franchise mode in IP 2003 be? Can you please elaborate on the use of minor league teams and players, coaches, general manager decisions, etc.?
Richard R: We think that when you pair our Create-A-Player Training Tracks with our seasonal play, you'll get the same feeling a MLB manager gets when he watches one of his rookies blossom into a great of the game. Players are able to enjoy trading with other teams, sort through the deals being offered to them by CPU GMs along with having to overcome the variety of injuries that can render a contender into a pretender in no time. With our emphasis on speed of play, we're pleased that you get the core experience of baseball without having to haggle with the 40th man on the roster so he can fit within the salary cap.
No clear indication of a franchise mode. Assuming seasonal play means a full franchise/career mode. **crosses fingers**

How more direct can you get?
I too have a feeling there will be no extended season play. That's too bad. No excuse why the game shouldn't have one right out of the gate. Look how good Inside Drive is with it. There is simply no replay value (minus the online play). Assuming of course one does not have access to LIVE. It is clearly evident that they are pushing the online component of the game then anything else. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, actually kudos to them for taking advantage of it. Seeing how none of the baseball games are LIVE enabled. But the replay value will suffer IMO without a franchise/career mode of some sort.
Maybe it's something they will add at the last minute.
