    Blaise, Please Asnwer This

Since you've played all 3 games, can you give us your ratings? Is HH's graphics so bad that even though the gameplay is realistic, its just no fun and has no atmosphere?

    Re: Blaise, Please Answer This

Its great that Ive become a sort of demi-god(two post seeking my "advice", with a few PMs too, and not just about my avatar, like the others) in the last 2hrs over here. Since you were nice enough to ask my opinion, I shall give it too you.

PS - This is the MVP Board, and the Mods may lock or move this topic, since it doesnt directly deal with MVP baseball.

Atmosphere - MVP and WSB have great atmosphere. With hecklers calling out names and taking numbers, both do a really good job in capturing the feel of the ballpark. Personally, I like MVP, because the crowd as a whole gets into the game more, IMHO. My only gripe, being a Met Fan, is the Apple looks stupid when a Met hits a HR in MVP. Its on a wire, and it just doesnt look right. HH is last in this regard, but with a little tweaking, you can make the crowd sound better.

Gamplay - MVP is fresh and new, because of the Pitching and fielding. WSB is good, and even though Im in between when it comes to cursor based hitting, (my only gripe is i wish the cursor moved alittle slower). HH to me is the best overall, and the sliders add the ability to tweak almost ever aspect of gameplay to get it as "perfect" as you would like.

Franchise & Options - While HH is the deepest, because of all the minor leaguers, WSB is the most "Hands-On", and Again, MVP is fresh and new. MVP(EA) should have taken more of a Madden franchise approach, but its good none the less. WSB is definitely the overall best, and not just because you can hire the OS staff to manage your club, and then fire them when they dont do well. HH is the deepest, but not as well put together like EA and Segas effort.

Graphics - Wsb has the sharpest models, while I think MVP has the overall best, and thats only because of the player scaling and sizing. Its not as vibrant as WSB, but some of WSB colors arent accurate. Throw back jerseys are the main culprits here, as the colors look "off" and kind of washed out. But the players stand out more, and they look like they belong on the field. HH is the worst in this aspect, but the players are accurately scaled. Also, Faces are best in MVP/WSB and expressions go hands down to MVP. However, these are no real reasons to buy a game, but nice after touches.

Sound - By this I mean, announcing and on the field sounds.
MVP, WSB and then HH, with HH a distant last in this. MVP and WSB have some of the best announcing and on the field sounds ever (up to this point in VG history) I personally like both, but in MVP, I can tell when ive hit a dribbler or HR just by the sound, In WSB I can too however its not as clear, but not as much in HH.

Interface - MVP, WSB and again, a distant last is HH. Im not a big fan if Sega's menus, and I prefered lasted yrs setup on the Xbox personally. While its not bad, MVP's interface is like Madden and every other EA sports title, and for me, its easier to navigate.

Lastly, Overall Feel, Appeal, and Fun -

Youve gotta ask yourself, what captures baseball for me? What am i going to have the most fun with, by myself and with friends? What can I picture playing a 162 season in, or even a multi-year franchise? Whats going to challenge me the most, and make me earn every hit, every run?; Whats going to make me pay for my mistakes, and reward me for my patience and hard work?

For me, the answer is all of them, but for different reasons:

    Fun - MVP
    Rewards - MVP, WSB, HH
Playing a franchise - HH, WSB tie, MVP close, but no cigar
    Challenging - HH, MVP
    Satifaction - HH
    Long gaming session - MVP

I dont like to give grades, Im not a teacher, so ill put it in these easy to understand terms:

MVP is a vgg, but not the best overall game.
WSB is a gg, but perhaps the best overall.
HH is also a vgg, but not the best overall

They all have something going for them, and its a personal choice. Its what you like, and I would hope that no one would be swayed, either way in buying a title by my comments.
