Re: how do u tag
They usually will tag automatically if they have the chance.
I did see a post over on the IGN Boards, where some guy said that you can manually tag by pressing the base that the runner CAME FROM on the D-Pad. I haven't tested in out, so I don't know if it works or not. -

Tags - press the base the runner is coming from, and your fielder will make the tag(I didnt believe it at first, but it worked, and thats all the proof i needed.)
While i dont take credit for it, alot of people lately have been asking me about it. Its not really that hard, and if you just follow the above statement, you should have no problems.
Also, on pick offs, treat the runner as if hes coming from the advancing base. So on a pickoff to 1st, press up, as if he was coming from second.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici

I'll have to try this for the plays at the plate. Just press the dpad to the left for the tag at the plate?

Re: how do u tag
This is actually intuitive as you press the direction you would want the player with the ball to tag from.
Here is another question:
If you press towards third when you want to tag a runner moving from 1st to 2nd does the player attempt a tag on the third base side of the 2nd base bag?Comment

Well, i dont really remember what side they tag on, but they try to actually "tag" the guy if that makes sense to you.
You question confuses me though. Why would you wanna press 3rd (Left) on the D-Pad on a guy going from 1st to 2nd? Its not going to work, you'd have to press right(1st) in that instance.

Its funny seeing you on a board thats not about College Football. Just wanna add that I still use your 2003 rosters, and that they are really good.

Re: how do u tag
Hey, glad you are still enjoying the rosters.
I know my question didn't make sense in terms of playing the game, I was just curious to see if the button presses made the player make the tag in either direction.
I am guessing that if you pressed left on the pad or stick? while covering second while the CPU player was running from
first to second nothing would happen.
I just wanted to see if it triggered a tag in the other direction.
I just rented the game from Blockbuster about 15 minutes ago.
Can't wait to check it out.Comment
