Hmm... Something else I noticed. Tim Salmon can't seem to get anything over. So I went back to Home Run Derby and was pull fly hitting and still couldn't get anything out except maybe a lucky one or two.

So I switched to just straight up flys and then I hit out a bunch. Same with Troy Glaus. Anybody else notice anything like this? Some guys hit it farther with a pull and some hit farther straight?

And yes, I am still pulling with my timing.

Barry is something else in the game. I'm playing on Pro, and have played fewer than half my games. He just rips everything, unfortunately. I've only had a couple multi-HR games with him -- but day-in, day-out he knocks one out. Too much for my taste, but I think the problem is simply that he sees far too many pitches.

Of course, if the AI played him like in real life, it might make for a slightly too-boring game, even for realism junkies....

I think there is more leeway in the timing of swings when you just push the stick up. Doing this means that you are going to hit the ball pretty much where it can from. So you get a bigger "window" on the timing of your swing. When pulling, you have to be slightly early in your swing to get the ball far enough to left or right field, that you are taking advantage of the shorter distances from left-center to the foul line, and right-center to the foul line.
