Just bought the game: What should I expect?

I'll be playing most of my games on Default PRO with default sliders/settings.

I've heard a lot of good and a lot of bad about this game, yet I played a game last night and it's looking a lot better than "ASB 2k3's animations".

I know there a lot of die hard fans here that have put in over 50-100 games. What should I expect in the coming games???

Here's an idea. Play it yourself and then sit down and break the game down with yourself. Discuss the good points and bad points of the game and perhaps write a paper on it. After completing this task, pat yourself on the back and smile.
