Re: Play Now Game Time Select

    Two resposnes:

    1. I'm playing with the Braves, and I believe that I have had day home games (although I will have to check this out).l

    2. The difference in graphics between day and dusk games is negligible IMO. Don't get me wrong, I think this is weird, but to me it's not too big a deal.

I noticed this too, it is not a big deal but then again in this day and age these kinds of things should not exist in our games.

I mean, it was like this on the Sega Genesis back with Triple Play '96, when some stadiums could only have day or night games but not both.

The thing that annoyed me was how well the "dusk" time was re-created for those fields such as Minute Maid, Fenway and Turner that don't have the day time option. It really gives the feeling of being at the ballpark on a warm summer evening. It caputures the look spot on.

I really can't wait till we start seeing games that start off at dusk, with looming shadows and an orange sky and the lights glowing, and the sun slowly sets leaving it dark by the 3rd inning as shadows move with the setting sun. It would really be great. We will see this prolly on the next generation of consoles.

None of this is a big deal but think how awesome that would be, to play a game at sunset and actually see the sun set, with changing shadows and stuff as day turns to night. That is such a nice part of baseball too....going to a game in the evening and having day turn to night as the game progresses.

You are right. It's all part of the atmosphere.

Madden has realtime shadows. I don't see why MVP couldn't.

Also Fifa 99 or so on the PS1 had variable weather during the game. It would start out dry and then you would hear thunder and see lightning and the rain would come down and then it would clear up.

Why isn't that something that is explored more?

All sports games should have variable weather during the game.

It would be mind blowing if you started out a baseball game in the sunshine then saw clouds roll in and then a little rain and by the 6th you have a downpour and then they call the game an inning later.

I am glad the day night issue is restricted to those 4 teams.

I will just pick another team to play a franchise as.

Gotta have day games at home.

I once heard in an interview from a developer, that in Baseball Games, the reason why they dont have "Bad Weather" is that it would be "too hard" to program rescheduling games into the games. He made mention that he feels for what the MLB people go through when they have to reschedule games in real life. I wish I could remember where i read this though.

This said, I still think they should have weather(snow in COL, rain, winds up to like 40mph) and it should effect the game, and in extreme circumstances, they should be able to cancel games.

Yeah, and they could get a little creative with it.

Isn't it 7 innings and the game can be called with no makeup game required?

So bad weather would just call the game after 7.

So basically, if you were down a run in the 5th and you saw the clouds roll in...
