    Slider Questions

This is my 1st year w/HH for the Ps2. Could someone explain these sliders for me. I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

    Human contact ease.

Fielder speed (do they react quicker or run faster?)

Fielder throw speed (do the fielders get rid of the ball faster or do the throws reach the base faster?)

    Pitch Count

    Pitcher Control sim

Also, one other question: The variable umpire. Will he call strikes differently in the game or will does this mean each umpire will have his own particular strike zone?

    Re: Slider Questions

Again... there are all straight from the Slider turorial found at highheat2004.net :

    Human contact ease.
"Controls how easy it is for Humans to make contact with the ball."

Fielder speed (do they react quicker or run faster?)
"Controls how fast the fielders will move." (how fast they run)

Fielder throw speed (do the fielders get rid of the ball faster or do the throws reach the base faster?)
"Controls how fast the fielders throw the ball."
(I'm guessing this means they reach the base faster.)

    Pitch Count
"Controls how patient CPU hitters are causing them to take more or less pitches."

    Pitcher Control sim
"Controls how much each specific pitch-type has over pitcher control. For example, in real-life, a fastball is easier to throw where you want than a curve. If this slider is set to the top, this disparity will increase. With the slider at the bottom, there will be no difference in pitcher control when throwing different pitch types."

As for the variable umpire... it seems to me that the strike zone will be slightly different from game to game with this turned on.
    LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!

Thanks for replying. I saw you mention that site on another thread. Is the tutorial for PC users only & is it just available by download?

            Re: Slider Questions

There is actually a downloadable zip file at the site, and that contains a word document with each of the slider explanations. I found it by looking on their "High Heat 2004 - Console" message board. One of the threads up top has a link to the tutorial.
