"Zero Chance" MLB accepts Cuban's bid to buy Cubs

    Selig is a fool

This reminds me so much of the Jim Ballsille thing with the NHL. Like Bettman, Selig doesn't want to have new voices in the game and someone who'd make the game even more popular then it is. I guess Selig is so thin skinned that he can't take a little criticism. Instead MLB would rather take in a bid from some corporate entity that will be ridiculously hands off with the Cubs and dealings with the league.

Idiotic on Selig's part...the worst thing is that Cuban is the highest bidder by at least $100 million.

Have they publicly stated a reason of why they won't sell to Cuban? As SPTO stated, Seling just doesn't want Cuban's antics, but is that the official reason they are using?

So the owner of the Cubs finds a bidder who is making a large offer, but he cannot sell without MLB's approval? If the next bidder is lower than Cubans, the current owner should be able to recoup the difference from MLB, no? Since they are the ones blocking the deal.

Basically this sounds like pure discrimination unless they are giving an "official" reason that I am not seeing.

No official reason and they won't give one because there isn't a solid, reasonable one.

Everyone knows why MLB is blocking this deal. It's no secret.

It's a shame, too, because Cuban is one of the few owners in sports that actually cares about the team and it's fans. Not that the Cubs really need that at this moment, but Cuban will do whatever it takes to keep the Cubs competitive.

Obviously, there are negatives to Cuban, but I think every owner should be passionate about his team first and foremost. Cuban is that type of owner and should be granted the team especially since the current owners seem open to dealing with him.

**** Bud Selig. This is just an example of how Bud Selig and his bull**** is killing Baseball.

Because Selig is a POS, just like he was when he owned the Brewers. Its a good ole boy club, and Bud does not want anyone to interupt that. If Cuban spends money, then how in the hell is the rest of MLB suppose to do that, without taking it out of their own fat, slimey 80 year old bastard hands and putting it into the team.

There are so many other things that are truth, but as a mod, I just can't say them.

It appears that Selig does not want "controversial" types in his little group of MLB owners. While i personally don't care for Cuban i can see why people (especially Cubs fans) would be upset with this.
The same thing happend in 1995 when the Royals were looking to sell and Selig turned down the best bid given which was made by George Brett, his brothers and their silent partner Rush Limbaugh.

Yet he has bent over backwards (maybe even forwards) on numerous occasions for that scumbag Jeffery Loria.

Thats true look what he did to Marge Schott.

Being a Cubs fan I wouldnt find Cuban. He has a passion for winning unlike the Tribune Company who has owned the team since 1981. Cuban would have to respect Wrigley Field History and not put recliners in the bleachers for him and his freinds or anything stupid like that.

More then likely the team will be sold to one of Seligs pals.

Maybe Loria has naked pictures of Selig or something .

I don't believe that Loria should be allowed to own a lemonade stand let alone a pro sports team, but it's not up to me.
