    Still Having Problems with K's

So I've been trying all of the different suggesstions that I've read here and nothing is working. I'm lucky to get 2-3 K's a game on Pro using the Braves pitching staff. The problem is that the computer is swinging at everything I throw. I usually start in one corner with my first pitch, and then go to the complete opposite corner diagonally across from that one on my second pitch, and of course I vary the speeds. A lot of times I can get either a foul ball with one of the pitches or an actual strike and get to an 0-2 count but then it's just a crapshoot if I will stirke the player out.

Should I be working the hot zones more--I generally avoid them if I can help? I don't know, any advice would be appreicated. I love the game and I am having success in every other area except this one. Thanks!

I know you've probably already tried all this but I'm getting 5-9 k's per game with the chiSox and on 2 strike counts i do a number of things. The high heat seems to work quite well. Just directly up and make sure it is high enough. You have to go all the way to the red with the pitching gauge though. I also try and flirt with their hot zones with 2 strikes. If they have a hot zone low I'll throw a sinker or slider a little bit below and they seem to bite. A final thing I do is set up the batter. Ill throw some chin music then drop a slider on the outside corner, it seems to work. I rarely get strikeouts though when i dont go all the way to the red on the pitching meter...Hope that helped a little

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

That was another question I had--are people getting K's by going into the red? How often should you go into the red (just 0-2 counts or all counts)? Also, are people getting the K's by going out of the zone and getting the players to swing and miss, or should I be sticking to pitching around the edges in the zone?

        Thanks again!

pitching in the hot zone doesn't mean they'll make contact everytime, it just means if they hit the ball, it will be solid contact. given that, you CAN throw it the hot zone to get strikes (as wekll as third strikes).

i think your problem is, you're all over the place. depending on the situation, work one particular area of the strike zone. sliders and change-ups are get strike out pitch, and the high heat is best for low quality betters who are up against the ropes. when pitching in the zone, flirt with the cold and hot zone. place the pitch cursor 25% in the hot 75% in the cold. you'll see the cpu will be a bit hesitate on what to do witht the pitch.

also, know your pitches. look a the strenght indicator (the red line UNDER the selected pitch). these pitches are the best for that pitcher.

keep in mind, you'll have your good game and your bad. one game will be 10K's, the nexet may be 2K's. just like real life....
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Thanks so much everyone. I tried some of your suggestions and I had 7K's in my first game with them (Maddux had 3, Smoltz had 3, and Gryboski had 1--Barry Bonds though!). I think I am starting to get the hang of it, it only took 50 games! That's what I like so much about this game, I'm still on a learning curve after playing so much of it. Thanks again!
