Re: Tejada to Phillies trade rumors continue
wow the Phillies would be stacked if they got Tejada along with Thome, Burrell, and Lieberthal. Do you think he would honestly want to stay in Philly though and giving up Myers and Rollins would be huge if Tejada just stayed for a year. We are all getting ahead of ourselves though, as it probably won't happen, you never know.Comment

Re: Tejada to Phillies trade rumors continue
I'm as big a Philly fan as anyone (across the board, all sports). I just don't like this deal.
Jimmy Rollins is one of my favorite players, so I'm a little biased. At the same time, who would lead off? Abreu? Byrd?
As far as Brett Myers goes, that's a tough pill to swallow. They already traded for one guy who's going to leave after a year. Don't trade for another.

Re: Tejada to Phillies trade rumors continue
i hear what all of you are saying. this is an interesting rumor. and like i said, i don't see it happening...because it sounds too good to be true. but until baseball gets a salary cap and big markets try their darndest to achieve through money, there's a chance of a trade like this happening. and i hope it does. the Phils are one of the worst teams, history-wise. i need to see a World Series champ!!!!lol i was only a few months old when they won their first back in '80. this trade would give me confidence in them getting to the top.
ok as far as how it would work out....we get Tejada, and i see Placido Polanco going to the leadoff spot. i know someone said what would they do in a leadoff hitter without Rollins....well Rollins, as good as he is and i like the guy alot but he hits like he wants homeruns and RBIs. so he is really more of hitting second, although Bowa tried getting through to the guy of hitting more for contact to get on base. he just refuses to do it. it's a shame because he would be such a great player. he steals bases with the best of them, he's a very good fielder. and he's charismatic person. but he's kinda nonchalant about things and his antics(if you want to call it that) has been talk down in Clearwater and here in Philly. and people here would believe Polanco would be suited for leadoff. he is well liked here already. so this trade would be great. and losing Brett Myers is not good, because of his potential but thanks to good ol' Mike Arbuckle, we have a couple of great arms waiting. can't wait until Gavin Floyd and Taylor Buchholz get up here.
and also what was discussed here in Philly over the radio is Curt Schilling coming back in a trade. everybody knows Schilling wants to come back to Philly in the worst way, especially since the Phils finally spent money and are a contender. he still has a home here. and the thinking is the Phils would give up SS Anderson Machado, a base stealer and has very good defensive skills, who the Diamonbacks supposedly want badly, and another person from the big club and another prospect for Schill. now that i really don't see but hey...you just never know.Comment

Re: Tejada to Phillies trade rumors continue
I also heard Duckworth and a Minor League SS for Schilling. I would be 100% absolutely shocked if they pulled of either one of these trades, and with a new stadium next year, I think tejada would stay. I just can't fathom this ever happening though.be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.Comment
